Unlike other satellite systems, such as Global Star or Iridium, GPS satellites cannot receive data. They only transmit position information for use by GPS receivers. This is a one-way system. Raveon Technologies Corp. uses UHF radio channels to broadcast their position information back to a base station or to other vehicles with displays.
